Download results and recover an unavailable file

Save original files, build a ZIP media pack on Exports, and recover a download without creating duplicate work.

Updated

Download a result

  1. Open the conversation and find the finished result.
  2. Choose Download video, Download image or Download audio (other files show Download).
  3. Your browser saves the original file.

For an image or video you can also choose Open original, which opens the full file in a new tab. In the enlarged viewer, Download saves the same original and confirms "Download started · original file".

Wavemaker checks that you are signed in to the workspace that owns the file each time you download. The download address in the result stays the same; it doesn't expire while you keep access.

Check that it worked

  • Open the downloaded file. Play video and audio through once with sound, and look at images at full size.
  • Check the file type, dimensions and duration against where it is going.
  • Keep the original alongside any resized or converted copy you make.

A preview in the conversation can be smaller than the original. The download is always the original file as it was made, not a re-encode.

Download several files

  • Download all: when the agent delivers a set of display ad sizes, the set shows a Download all 6 button (with the number of files). It downloads each original one after another; your browser may ask once to allow several downloads.
  • Exports: to hand off a set of files as one archive, build a media pack. See the next section.
  • Library: Uploaded files & assets in Library tools lists your uploads, each with a Download button.

Build a media pack on Exports

A media pack is a ZIP of exact originals you choose, for a destination such as an editor, an agency or an ad server. Wavemaker never posts anything for you.

  1. Open Exports at /app/exports: from Library tools › Export selected originals, the selection bar in My library, or More options › Export on a result (which adds that result).
  2. Choose Choose saved files to add originals from your Library. A pack can hold only files your workspace owns; acquired items can't be packed.
  3. Give the pack a Pack name (up to 80 characters: letters, numbers, spaces, dashes or underscores, starting with a letter or number) and a Destination description (up to 160 characters).
  4. For each file, set its File role: original, poster, audio stem, captions or subtitles. A poster must be an image and an audio stem must be audio. Captions and subtitles must be UTF-8 SRT or WebVTT files of 2 MiB or less.
  5. Optionally set requirements for each file: Required width, Required height, Maximum seconds and Maximum bytes. Leave them empty for Any. A required width or height must match the file exactly.
  6. Leave Media-only pack selected. The page also offers Media and explicitly selected editable source, but source packages can't be packed yet: a pack that includes one is refused with "Owned source packages cannot be packed by this service yet; select artifacts".
  7. Optionally add Text to share, which goes in the ZIP as copy.txt.
  8. Choose Build selected pack.

Building a pack runs no generation and makes no new media. The page shows each build step: Selection reviewed, Size and duration requirements checked, Verifying original files, Writing the archive and receipt. When it finishes you see "Pack ready. Original files verified. Wavemaker has not posted anything." Choose Download pack.

Pack limits

LimitValue
Files per pack64
Total size of the originals512 MiB
Required width or height1 to 32,768 pixels
Maximum secondsUp to 86,400
Text to shareUp to 8,000 characters

Requirements are checked against each original. Export does not resize or transcode. A file that misses its requirements stops the build with "Selected originals do not meet the declared destination requirements; no conversion was performed". Originals over the total size stop it with "Selected originals exceed the 512 MiB archive limit". Ask the agent for a version in the right size or format, then build again.

What's in the ZIP

  • Each original, stored without recompression and named in order with the name you set, for example 01-hero-cut.mp4.
  • manifest.json, which records the pack's title and destination and, for each file, its exact reference, SHA-256 hash, role and size. Keep it with the pack.
  • copy.txt, when you added text to share.

The Archive receipt and SHA-256 section lists the archive and every file's hash. Each file in a ready pack also has its own Download original, Copy private link and Prepare system share buttons. Copy private link gives a link that opens only for people signed in to this workspace. Prepare system share hands one file to your device's share sheet where the browser supports it.

Drafts are saved in this browser until you build them: "Draft saved in this browser. Nothing has been built or shared." Each original can be in a pack only once.

If a pack is interrupted

You can leave the page while a pack builds. If it's interrupted, the original request is kept, and building it again never applies it twice.

A shared link someone sent you follows its owner's settings: it may have expired or been revoked, or may not allow downloads. Ask the owner for a fresh link. See Share your work.

Videos made before your first payment

Videos generated before the workspace's first payment carry a small Wavemaker icon and "created with wavemaker.io" in a corner. The mark is part of the stored file, so every download of that video includes it, and no unmarked copy is kept. Paying later does not remove it from earlier videos; videos generated after that payment come without it, and so do videos generated on your own provider key. Stills and audio are never marked. See Plans and Brand kits and watermarks.

Downloading is separate from sharing

A download stays on your device. It does not create a public page, a listing or a link. To share, choose the exact item and check the link's audience and permissions; see Share your work. To get a copy of all your workspace data, see Privacy and your data.
