Your data: export, deletion and privacy settings
Export your account or workspace, close an account or workspace safely, and see what Wavemaker keeps, how cookies are used and how to use your privacy rights.
Updated
Data and privacy is where you export what you own, or close it. It needs a sign-in to your personal account. Each scope has its own page: your personal account, a workspace you own, your membership in a workspace, and a single conversation or file. Every closure shows a preview of exactly what will happen before you confirm.
- Preview
See what is removed, kept and blocking.
- Export
Download anything you want to keep.
- Confirm
Type the phrase and verify your password.
- Cleanup
Access ends now; erasure follows the retention period.
Export your data
- Open Data and privacy for your personal account. For a workspace you own, open the workspace from Your workspaces and choose Data and privacy.
- Select Create personal account export or Create workspace export.
- Wait while the export shows Preparing. Closing the page doesn't stop it, and Wavemaker notifies your inbox when it is ready.
- Select Download export.
The archive is a ZIP file of the records you are entitled to and the original files, each with its provenance and checksum. Open Included originals, provenance and exclusions to see every file and anything left out, with the reason.
| Export state | What it means |
|---|---|
| Preparing | The archive is being built. |
| Ready | Ready to download. |
| Ready with exclusions | Ready, but some items were left out. The manifest lists them. |
| Failed | The export wasn't confirmed. Select Retry same export to pick up its progress. |
| Revoked | You revoked it. The download no longer works anywhere it was shared. |
| Expired | Past its expiry date. Create a new export. |
Each export shows its size, its SHA-256 and the date it expires. Select Revoke export to end access sooner. An export holds at most 5,000 files and 2 GB.
A workspace membership doesn't let you export another person's account. Shared resources, other people's copies of items they acquired, and records kept for payments, security or the law may be left out.
Close your personal account
- Open Data and privacy and review Current impact. Each row shows a category, a count and what happens to it: Removed, Ended, Retained or Kept.
- Resolve anything under Resolve before closing.
- Download any export you need.
- Check I reviewed the affected and retained data.
- Type the confirmation shown, for example
CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, and verify your password. - Select Confirm closure.
Your sign-in and every credential are revoked as soon as you confirm, and Wavemaker takes you to Closure recovery. Erasure can run once the retention period shown in the preview has passed. See After you confirm.
If you are the only member of a workspace you own, that workspace is closed with your account, and the confirmation becomes CLOSE MY ACCOUNT AND MY WORKSPACE (or WORKSPACES). The preview names each one. A shared workspace you own needs another owner first.
What blocks a closure
- A shared workspace you own. Make another member an owner first. See Account and workspaces.
- An active paid plan. Cancel it under Manage billing on Usage and credits and wait for the period to end. See Plans and pricing.
- Running work. Conversations, jobs and reservations still in progress must finish first.
The confirmation needs your password. If you sign in only with Google, set a password first with Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.
Close a workspace
Only an owner can close a workspace. Open its Data and privacy page, review the impact, and confirm with DELETE WORKSPACE followed by the workspace name. Closing affects everyone in it: its conversations, files, settings and unused credits are removed, and members lose access. Your personal account is separate.
Leave a workspace or remove one item
- Workspace membership: select Preview leaving workspace to see what you lose and what the workspace keeps, then leave from the workspace's Lifecycle tab. Leaving keeps shared work with the workspace.
- Individual resource: select Preview individual resource removal to see what references a conversation, item or upload, then delete it from Conversations or the Library.
After you confirm
Wavemaker saves a closure receipt in this browser profile. Open Closure recovery at /privacy/closure from the same browser to see the request's state, the date cleanup becomes eligible and each step's progress. Once that date has passed, select Continue same closure request to run the erasure; selecting it earlier changes nothing. When erasure completes, the page clears your saved drafts from this browser. Other devices and browser profiles keep their own drafts; clear them there. Forgetting the receipt doesn't cancel the closure.
What Wavemaker keeps
- Payment, refund, usage, security, moderation and policy agreement records can be kept to resolve liabilities, prevent abuse, show consent and meet legal duties.
- Scheduled database recovery copies are kept for a rolling 35 days, separately from the live service. Release and incident recovery copies can be kept longer while needed.
- Removing a public listing can't recall copies people already downloaded.
- Wavemaker doesn't delete accounts, uploads or references automatically after a fixed period.
Cookies and analytics
Wavemaker uses necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect requests from forgery, remember appearance and layout choices, and keep unsent drafts.
On public pages (home, Help, Docs, the blog, examples and public Discover, creator and collection pages), Wavemaker measures visits with Google Analytics. Advertising storage and ad personalization are off. Analytics doesn't run on conversations, projects or settings, or when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Wavemaker doesn't sell personal information or use advertising cookies.
Your privacy rights
You can access, correct, delete and export your information, and revoke API keys, from your account. For anything a control can't do, or to use a right under GDPR or US state privacy laws, email [email protected]. Wavemaker may need to verify your identity first.
Read the Privacy Policy, Export and privacy rights and Cookies. All policies are at /policies.
