Brand kits and watermarks

Keep logos, colors, fonts and voice in a brand kit for the agent, and set the logo watermark your workspace adds to videos.

Updated

Create a brand kit

  1. Upload your logo files to the Library first. See Library.
  2. Open Brand kits at /app/library/brand-kits, or from Library tools › Brand kits in My library.
  3. Choose New brand kit.
  4. Enter the Brand name. The Kit id fills in from it; you can change it before the first save.
  5. Fill in the sections you need: Logos, Colours, Fonts, Voice, Boilerplate, Rules and Imagery. Every section is optional.
  6. Choose Save brand kit. A message confirms "Brand kit saved."
  7. Choose All brand kits to return to the list, then choose Make default if this is the brand your workspace uses most.

A workspace can hold many kits, for example one per client.

Use a kit in a message

  1. In the composer, open the Brand pill beside the brief. It shows the kit for this message, or None.
  2. Choose a kit, or No brand kit. The workspace default is marked Workspace default.
  3. Write your brief and send.
Make a 15-second vertical ad for our spring sale. Use the brand kit's colors and tagline, and keep the voice warm and direct.

When you choose a kit in the pill, the message tells the agent which kit to read. The agent uses what fits the brief: it treats the kit as guidance, not a stamp on every frame. Your choice stays on that conversation's draft until you change it.

The pill appears only when your workspace has at least one kit. Manage brand kits at the bottom of the menu opens the Brand kits page.

Check that it worked

  • Open the stills or video at full size and check the logo, colors and any lines from your kit.
  • If something from the kit is missing or wrong, say exactly what ("use the wordmark logo, not the mark") and ask for that piece again.

What a kit holds

ImageryStyle notes and Reference imagesNotes up to 2,000 characters. Up to 30 reference images, entered as file hashes (SHA-256), one per line.

Lines of text, such as example lines and rules, can be up to 500 characters each. Logos and reference images must be exact files from your Library; the logo menu lists your 100 most recent Library images, and each reference image is the file's SHA-256 hash. Web addresses start with http:// or https://.

Edit, archive and set the default

  • Edit: choose a kit's name in the list, change it, and choose Save brand kit.
  • Make default: marks the kit as the workspace default in the list and in the Brand pill.
  • Archive: hides the kit from the list and the Brand pill. Show archived kits lists every kit, archived ones included; Hide archived kits returns to the normal list.

If someone else saved the same kit while you were editing, Wavemaker doesn't overwrite their changes. You see "This kit changed since you opened it. Your edits are still here and have not been saved." Choose Open the current version and make your change again. A new kit whose id is taken shows "A kit with this id already exists."

The brand watermark

Separately from brand kits, a workspace can save one logo as its video watermark. Open Settings › Brand and watermark at /app/settings/brand.

  1. Under Brand logo, choose Add your logo and pick a PNG, WebP, JPEG or SVG file.
  2. Choose Prepare logo. Wavemaker checks the file, trims empty margins and shows it on transparent, light and dark backgrounds, with its format, size in pixels and whether it has transparency.
  3. Choose Use on light footage. To use a different logo on dark footage, prepare that file too and choose Use on dark footage. Until then, one logo serves both.

You can also start from an image result: More options › Use as watermark logo opens this page with that image prepared.

Logo fileLimit
PNG, WebP or JPEGUp to 25 MiB and 40 megapixels. Animated images are refused.
SVGUp to 2 MiB. Scripts, links and other active content are refused.

Warnings after preparing:

  • Under 512 px: "It may look soft on 1080p or 4K video; upload a larger file or an SVG if you have one."
  • Live text in an SVG: it was drawn with Wavemaker's bundled fonts, which may not match your typeface. Export the SVG with outlined text.
  • Solid background: a watermark usually needs a transparent background so only the mark shows. Upload a transparent PNG, or choose Remove the background with Wavemaker, which opens a new chat with that request filled in for you to send.

No logo yet? Create a logo with Wavemaker › Start in a new chat opens New chat with a logo brief. Nothing is made until you send it.

Placement

Changes preview live on sample footage. Switch the preview between Widescreen 16:9 and 9:16, and between Light footage and Dark footage.

Size sets the logo's height as a share of the video's short edge, at least 16 px; a wide logo is limited to 2.5 times that height in width. Choose Save watermark settings. The message "Saved. Applies to videos finished from now on." confirms it.

Add a watermark to one video

  1. On a video result, choose More options › Add watermark. On a video's item page in your Library, choose Add watermark.
  2. Adjust the placement. The dialog starts from your saved settings and previews the logo on the video's own frame, with a line such as "Logo at bottom right, 108×108 px on a 1920×1080 video (10% of the short edge), 60% opacity, for the whole video."
  3. Choose Add watermark. The request is added to your message (with a suggested brief if yours is empty), and a chip shows, for example, Watermark · bottom right. The × on the chip removes only the request.
  4. Send the message. The agent makes a new copy with your logo and shows it to you.

If no logo is saved, the dialog asks you to save one first, with Open Brand & watermark. HDR video can't be watermarked.

Watermark every new video

Turn on Watermark new finished videos automatically and save. From then on, each message you send in the web app asks the agent to deliver every finished video twice: the clean original and a copy with your logo, using your saved placement. A message that carries its own Add watermark request uses that request instead. It never changes videos you already have. Work started from the API, an MCP client or the CLI doesn't get this request.

The setting is off by default. It applies only while a logo is saved and available. If the saved logo's file is gone, the page says "The saved logo is no longer available. Upload it again before watermarking."

Choose Remove. The watermark default is cleared and automatic watermarking turns off, with Undo in the message. Videos you already watermarked keep the logo.

Who can change it

Anyone with write access to the workspace can change brand kits and the watermark: members, admins and owners. Viewers can see both but can't save. If two people save the watermark at once, the second sees "Watermark settings changed in another window. The latest settings are shown; review and save again."

The free-plan mark

This is different from your brand watermark. Videos generated before the workspace's first payment carry a small Wavemaker icon and "created with wavemaker.io": bottom right on landscape and square video, top left on vertical video. The mark is part of the stored file and no unmarked copy is kept. Paying later doesn't remove it from earlier videos; videos generated after that payment don't get it. The mark applies however the video was started: web app, API, MCP or CLI. Videos generated on your own provider key (see Work on your own provider key) don't get it. Stills and audio are never marked. You can't turn the mark off in settings. If the mark can't be applied, the job fails rather than delivering an unmarked video. See Plans.

Neither mark is a proof of authorship. A visible logo can be cropped.
