Profiles

Wavemaker has two kinds of public profile. Your personal profile is you, across every workspace. A creator profile belongs to a workspace and is the name on the items that workspace publishes.

Set up your personal profile

  1. Sign in with your personal account and open Settings › Profile (/app/settings/profile).
  2. Choose Upload photo (PNG, JPG or WebP; a square image works best).
  3. Enter a Display name and a Personal handle.
  4. Add a line or two under About you.
  5. Turn on Make my personal profile public if you want people to find it.
  6. Choose Save personal profile, then View personal profile to check it.

Your public page is /people/your-handle. Anyone with the link can see your name, photo and bio. Your sign-in email never appears on it, and your creations stay private until you share or publish them.

Set up your workspace's creator profile

Workspace owners and admins with write access edit the creator profile.

  1. Open Settings › Workspace › Creator profile (/app/settings/workspace-profile).
  2. Under Identity, upload a photo and enter a Display name, Creator handle and Tagline.
  3. Under About, fill in About your studio, Portfolio URL and Location, and choose a Profile colour.
  4. Turn on Make my creator profile public.
  5. Choose Save creator profile, then View public profile. The page is at /creators/your-handle.

You can also choose Edit profile on your own public profile page to change the main fields in place.

A public creator page has three tabs: Published, Collections and Discussion. Its header shows the collection and follower counts. Public discussion lives on each published item, not on the profile itself.

Follow a person or team

  1. Open the person's or team's public profile.
  2. Choose Follow. The button changes to Following · Unfollow and you see "Following this creator."
  3. To stop, choose Following · Unfollow.

Following needs a personal sign-in with write access. Signed out, the button reads Sign in to follow. You cannot follow yourself; your own profile shows Your public profile instead.

When you follow a team, Discover's Following filter shows new work from the creators you follow, and your inbox gets a notice when they publish or update a public item or collection. The person or team you follow gets a notice too. See Notifications.

Comments and discussion

Every public item and public collection has a Discussion section.

  1. Open the item or collection and scroll to Discussion.
  2. Type in Add a comment and choose Post comment.
  3. To answer someone, choose Reply under their comment. To see a thread, choose its N replies button, and All threads to go back.
  4. To change your own comment, choose Edit, then Save comment. To remove it, choose Delete, then Confirm delete.

Commenting needs a personal sign-in with write access. Signed out, you can read the discussion but the comment box is disabled.

  • A comment can be up to 5,000 characters.
  • Replies can nest up to eight levels. Past that, start a new thread.
  • Comments show 20 at a time. Order them with Oldest first or Newest first.
  • Your comment is attributed to you personally, using your public personal profile's name. Without one, it shows as Community member.
  • A deleted comment shows as "Comment deleted." A comment removed by moderation shows as "Comment unavailable." Removed comments cannot be restored by editing.
  • To mention someone, write their handle, such as @sam-rivera. They get a notice if they have a public personal profile.
  • Your unsent comment is kept in this browser until you post it.

A private Library item has its own discussion that stays inside your workspace and is pinned to that exact version. A private version of a listing has no public discussion.

Thumbs up and saving

Thumbs up in the discussion header records that you like the item, and shows how many people do. Choose Thumbs up · Remove to take it back. It needs a personal sign-in with write access.

Save for later on an item page bookmarks it in your Library's Saved view. It does not add the item to your Library. See Discover, acquire and reuse.

Collections

A collection groups exact versions of items under one name. You manage collections in Library.

  1. Open Library › Collections (/app/library?tab=collections) and choose New collection.
  2. Enter a Name and an optional Description.
  3. Under Choose Library members, add items. Reorder them with Move up and Move down, and use Remove to drop one.
  4. Under Audience, choose This workspace or Public.
  5. Choose Save collection.

To add an item from its page, choose Save to collection.

RuleLimit
NameUp to 150 characters. Required.
DescriptionUp to 5,000 characters.
MembersUp to 100 exact versions. A collection cannot contain another collection.
Public collectionsEvery member must be a published item in Discover.

A public collection also needs the publication agreement. Open Policy agreements, choose Creator publication and sharing and accept. Without it, saving a public collection fails with "Review the current policies at /policies/agreements before this action".

Each save creates a new revision. A public collection's page at /collections/... shows its revision and item count, a Copy link button and its discussion. Each member keeps its own access and license. A member that is no longer public shows as Unavailable item, and you must remove unavailable members before you can save again.

To retire a collection, archive it from the editor. Archiving keeps its earlier versions and the original sources of its members.

If someone else saved the same collection while you were editing, you see "Another edit won the revision. Nothing was overwritten. Inspect the current version." Choose Inspect current version and then Use current version or Keep my changes.

Notifications

Community activity appears in your Wavemaker inbox (/app/notifications). Notifications appear in Wavemaker only; no email, digest or webhook is sent.

NoticeWho gets it
A new comment on your public workOwners and admins of the workspace that published the item.
Someone replied to your commentThe author of the comment that was answered.
You were mentioned in a commentThe person whose @handle was written, if their personal profile is public.
Someone followed your profileYou, for a personal profile. Owners and admins, for a team.
A followed creator updated a public itemPeople following the team that published or updated an item or a public collection.
A report or appeal has an updateThe reporter, the affected person, and owners and admins of the affected workspace.

A notice comes from a new comment only, not from an edit. Notices caused by someone you muted or blocked, or someone who blocked you, are hidden.

To choose which notices arrive, open Settings › Notifications (/app/settings/notifications). Turn off Community replies, mentions, follows and public item updates to stop community notices. Report and appeal updates are account notices and always reach you. See Support and notifications.

Block and mute

From any comment, choose Mute or Block under someone else's comment.

ControlEffect
MuteTheir comments are hidden from you.
BlockTheir comments are hidden from you, your comments are hidden from them, and neither of you can reply to the other's comments.

Both also hide notices caused by that person. To undo, open Settings › Social (/app/settings/social). Blocked and muted people lists everyone, with Unmute and Unblock. Muting and blocking are private; the other person is not told.

Report content

You can report a public listing, a public collection, a comment, or a person's or team's profile.

  1. Choose Report on the listing's card, in a discussion header, under a comment, or on a profile.
  2. Under What’s wrong?, choose Rights or ownership, Harmful or unsafe, Misleading or Something else.
  3. Under What should the team look at?, add details. They are optional, except for Something else, which needs at least 3 characters. The limit is 2,000.
  4. Choose Submit report. You see "Report recorded." with a View case link.

Reporting needs a personal sign-in. Your report is private to you and Wavemaker staff; the creator does not see who reported. A report does not remove anything by itself. If you report the same thing again while your earlier case on it is open, triaged, restricted or appealed, your new details are added to that case.

Reports and appeals

Open Settings › Reports and appeals (/app/moderation) to see the cases you reported and the cases affecting your public work. Private investigation notes and other reporters' identities are not shown. Filter by Case status and choose Filter cases. The list shows 40 cases at a time, with Older cases for more.

Case statusMeaning
openThe report is waiting for review.
triagedA moderator is assigned.
dismissedStaff found nothing to change. The content stays as it was.
restrictedStaff restricted the content.
appealedSomeone asked for another review.
restoredStaff lifted the restriction.

A case page shows the decision's public reason, or "This case is awaiting a decision.", a link to Open current exact source, and the Case history.

What a restriction does

RestrictionEffect
Public content hiddenThe item, collection version, comment or profile is removed from public view. People who already added a hidden listing to their Library keep that version. Hiding a profile does not disable its account.
Package access revokedAccess to that exact package version is revoked, including for people who had added it. Billing records are kept.

While a restriction is active, publishing that item again is refused until the restriction is lifted. Files removed after a legal or safety request cannot be uploaded or published again.

Appeal a decision

If a case is dismissed or restricted and you are its reporter or the affected creator, the case page shows Request another review.

  1. Write your Appeal reason, 3 to 2,000 characters.
  2. Optionally use Attach evidence (optional): up to 3 PDF, PNG or JPEG files, 10 MB each. Only the moderator reviewing your appeal can open them.
  3. Choose Submit appeal. The case moves to appealed.

Staff then decide the case again, and it moves to its new status, such as restored when a restriction is lifted. You get an inbox notice each time the case changes.

Community guidelines

The Community guidelines set what is allowed in public listings, collections, profiles and comments. The Creator and license terms cover what you agree to when you publish or acquire. Both are public and versioned. See Policies, privacy and agreements.
